Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Fortaco, a manufacturer in the heavy industry sector, has started construction of a new factory in Knurów, where it will employ 200 people. The new plant is intended to transfer the main steel product preparation operations from various locations to one location. Moreover, the establishment of the new site is linked to the anticipated increase in demand for the products offered by Frotaco, including vehicles serving the warehousing, container transport, timber industry or excavators and construction vehicles. The plant will be completed in the third quarter of 2024 and will employ production workers. Fortaco Group was established in 2012, and its facilities in Poland mainly produce steel and machined components, and offer sub-assembly of auxiliary equipment in fabricated components. The company currently employs 2,300 people in Estonia, Finland, Poland, Hungary, Serbia and Slovakia.
