Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Food company Nestle announced to cut 90 jobs in Germany between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.
Jobs will be lost in its sales force departments. Announced job cuts will be realised in a socially acceptable manner; avoiding direct dismissals. The company is quoted to restructure its business portfolio and processes.
Nestle wants to continue to manage the Maggi and Purina Petcare product lines, but other product lines (e.g. for coffee, confectionary or dairy products) will be outsourced.
There are currently over 8,000 employees working for Nestle in Germany.
