Description
Talum, the manufacturer of aluminum products, announced the investment in a ‘green’ factory of slugs and the creation of 100 new jobs.
Due to the energy crisis, the company laid off 120 people in March 2023 because primary aluminum manufacturing was no longer sustainable, see [Talum-2023-SI] (https://apps.eurofound.europa.eu/restructuring-events/detail/108613). Soon after, it announced the €38 million investment in a new plant to produce slugs. The facility is expected to be operating by the end of 2024. The company secured a loan from NKBM bank and €15 million in development funds from SID Bank for the investment.
