European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Swedish car parts manufacturer Autoliv has announced the forthcoming redundancy of around 320 employees at its main plants in France, representing around 20% of the French workforce (there were 1,728 employees at the end of 2022). Autoliv has four production sites for airbags, airbag inflators and seatbelt micro-gas generators in France, at Gournay-en-Bray (Seine-Maritime), Chiré-en-Montreuil (Vienne), Pont-de-Buis (Finistère) and Survilliers (Val-d'Oise). 59 jobs are to be cut at the Pont-de-Buis site. The restructuring is the result of a rise in costs due to inflation. Most of the redundancies will be in general production services, but roles in other areas such as sales, research and administration will also be affected. The job cuts will begin in the first half of 2024 and are expected to be fully implemented by the end of 2025. On 8 June 2023, the Group announced plans to cut around 8,000 job positions worldwide (11% of its total workforce), mainly in Europe.
