Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Spanish company CAF, which is specialised in the design of urban rolling stock, has announced that it will be recruiting 100 people between now and the beginning of 2024, and approximately an additional 100 over the 2024-2025 period, at its Reichshoffen plant (Bas-Rhin). The group is increasing its workforce as a result of the launch of two major projects: "Oxygène", new-generation intercity trains, in addition to the "Régiolis" trains on order, and "MI20", which involves the manufacture of new equipment for the RER B line in the Paris region. The site currently employs 700 permanent staff, plus 200 temporary workers and subcontractors.
