Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Lactalis plant in Domfront, which has benefited from a €70 million investment in a new Camembert production unit, has announced that it will be recruiting 50 employees by 2024, representing an increase of more than 10% on the current workforce of 450. The plant has already recruited 150 employees in 2023. The new plant was inaugurated on 19 October by the chairman of the dairy group. The new equipment will enable Lactalis to increase production to more than 500,000 Camemberts a day.
Three recruitments announcements have been already recorded in the ERM Database, with 200 job creations in 2022 Lactalis-2022-FR, 250 job creations in 2020 Lactalis-2020-FR and 100 job creations in 2017 Lactalis-2017-FR.
