Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sodebo, the food group which is specialised in the manufacture and marketing of fresh produce, has announced that it will be recruiting 300 employees until the end of 2023 in Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu.
The newly recruited employees are to work mainly in the field of production. Some of the new recruits will be replacing people who have left the company, while the majority will be needed to cope with the increasing growth in production. The company will be investing €12m in an extension for, for instance, its chicken-based products, a growth segment.
Two other business expansion announcements were recorded in the ERM database in France, with 242 jobs created in 2021 [Sodebo-2021-FR] (https://apps.eurofound.europa.eu/restructuring-events/detail/103878), and 2,150 in 2018 Sodebo-2018-FR.
