Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Austrian electronics firm Melecs inaugurated a new production hall at its Győr production site, creating a total of 120 new jobs.
Melecs produces electronic controls for household goods and passenger cars. The opening of the new production hall includes the enlargement of the production area, the installation of new production lines, an expansion of warehouse capacity and the extension of the test laboratory. The aim of the investment is to ensure that the increased customer demand is met in the long term.
The investment cost was €12 million. The government supported the development with a non-refundable grant of €2.4 million. Before the opening of the new hall, Melecs employed 550 people in Hungary.
