Description
Construction company Älvsbyhus is giving notice to 40 employees, both white-collar employees and construction workers in Sweden. The company plans to lay off 15 people in Älvsbyn, Norrbotten and 25 people in Bjärnum, Skåne.
According to the CEO, costs in the construction industry and interest rates have risen more than real wages. Therefore, many people are waiting to buy a house in the current market situation and this in turn reduces the demand for building houses. Therefore, the company has to adjust production volumes to increase efficiency.
Due to the worldwide financial situation, the company has already decided to close its functions in Finland until the end of the year 2023.
Älvsbyhus is a Swedish small house construction company that employs 300 people in Sweden.
