Currys, the British electrics and technology retailer, has announced the creation of 1100 new jobs in Ireland and the United Kingdom. While there is no indication about the number of jobs created in the two countries, 720 of the new positions are temporary jobs, while 370 permanent jobs are being created. The positions are being created in various locations in Ireland and the United Kingdom, including 120 driver roles. Further, many of the new employees will be working as sales and support staff.
The reason behind this business expansion is the busy period typically experienced by the company at the end of the year, for which Currys is bracing itself.
