Description
Ikea, a manufacturer and retailer of furniture and home furnishings, has begun a redundancy process at its Goleniów factory, resulting in 130 people (17% of the existing workforce) losing their jobs. The reason for the reduction in employment is a lower level of furniture orders; Ikea Industry representatives announced the decision to reduce employment on 26 September, and the redundancy process will continue until the end of October. Redundant employees can count on training from Ikea to improve their qualifications and will receive severance pay. Ikea is a Swedish furniture and home furnishings manufacturer and retailer with over 16,000 employees in Poland and 100,000 employees at its suppliers.
