Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Moncler Industries Yield, an Italian manufacturer of high-end textile apparel, announced that it completed the expansion of its Bacau (Bacau County) plant. Following an investment of about €10 million, the company inaugurated a new production unit and a kindergarten. Moncler Industries Yield aims to hire more than 200 persons in the coming months.
The company advertised positions for: new graduates, preferably with a degree in textiles, qualified garment operators or people willing to learn how to use sewing machines, line technologists with programming and production experience, technicians with experience in programming, launching and tracking production, prototyping specialists with experience in outdoor clothing, new graduates in apparel pattern design and quality technicians to ensure compliance with company quality standards throughout the supply chain.
The Romanian plant is the only one owned by the group outside Italy and produces mainly down jackets. At full capacity, it will produce around 30% of Moncler's annual global outerwear production. The new facility currently employs around 230 people, with Moncler Industries Yield capacity now reaching almost 1,800 employees, globally.
