Description

BCC, a Dutch consumer electronics company with headquarters in Amsterdam, is filing for bankruptcy. As a result, all 1000 employees will lose their job, reportedly by direct dismissal.

The reasons behind the bankruptcy of BCC are the losses the company has been making for years, especially due to rising competition. It is possible that the affected jobs could be partly preserved if the trustees achieve a relaunch. The Employee Insurance Agency UWV will take over the salaries of all employees for a limited amount of time, up to a maximum of EUR 7750 per month.

BCC had more than 50 shops in the Netherlands and a webshop, and was one of the largest electronics retailers in the country.
