Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
ATM (Azienda Trasporti Milanesi) is a company controlled by the Municipality of Milan that manages the public transport service in Milan and in 96 municipalities of the metropolitan city. The company announced a major investment (approximately €500,000) for a recruiting campaign, which will lead to the hiring of 600 new employees, including 300 drivers.
Within the recruiting campaign, two projects are planned to facilitate recruitment. The first project includes the possibility of obtaining the D licence and the Driver Qualification Card free of charge (or only the latter if you already have the required licence). These two certifications are in fact necessary to become a driver and their cost will be paid by ATM for 150 candidates. The second project concerns a housing contribution for new drivers for the first few months of renting.
