Description
Irish-American professional services firm Accenture is to cut 890 jobs from its Irish operations as part of a global restructuring programme.
The multinational company currently employs 6,500 people in Ireland. In March 2023, the company announced it would be cutting 2.5 percent of its workforce, approximately 19,000 jobs, from across its global operations due to the need of cost-saving. Accenture will now begin a collective employee consultation in Ireland for the proposed redundancy programme. The recent large-scale job cuts of tech giants such as Meta or Microsoft are also connected to Accenture's decision to undergo restructuring, as thousands of Accenture personnel work as outsourced staff for these companies.
Accenture offers digital, cloud, and security services to clients in almost 120 countries worldwide. At the moment, it employs more than 738,000 people worldwide.
