Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Valmet Automotive, a Finnish service provider to the automotive industry, has announced the creation of 160 jobs at its newly opened plant in Kirchardt, Baden-Württemberg. Valmet Automotive has opened its first battery plant in Germany in Kirchardt. The plant has a total area of 60,000 square metres. On an area of around 11,500 square metres, Valmet Automotive has built a highly automated production facility that provides jobs for around 160 employees. The production focuses on batteries for hybrid as well as electric vehicles. The Valmet Automotive Group is a leading European manufacturer of battery systems for electric vehicles and vehicle kinematics for original equipment manufacturers, as well as one of the largest vehicle contract manufacturers in the world. The company employs around 4,100 people at locations in Finland, Germany and Poland.
