Description

Kaufland, a German retailer, is to create 1,000 jobs in the ten new stores, which it plans to open by the end of 2023. In 2022, the company advertised 1,300 new jobs. The company announced its intention to invest around €300 million in building the new stores. The pay scale and benefits package are steadily improved, with the minimum net salary at Kaufland in 2022 being almost 60% higher than the national minimum net salary.

The large German retailer has 1,500 stores in eight countries across Europe. As of December 2022, Kaufland has an estimated 17,000 employees working in its 168 stores and 2 logistics platforms in Romania. This makes the company the country's largest private employer.
