RENFE, the national passenger railroad company of Spain and main Spanish railway operator, is expecting to call for a public offer of employment (OPE) to hire 450 new drivers. According to the Company sources, RENFE has hired more than 7,000 new employees between 2018 and 2023, which has redounded in a lower average age level of its workforce from 50 years old five years ago to the current 44.9 years old average.
The announcement to hire 450 new drivers comes after several previous public employment offer process (OPE) announced in 2023 in February (RENFE-2023-ES) and May (RENFE-2023-ES) to incorporate 500 and 300 new commercial operators and manufacturing/maintenance operators, respectively.
