Description
AHT Cooling Systems, an Austrian refrigeration and freezer specialist based in Rottenmann, Styria, has notified the local employment service of the reduction of 75 jobs and is in close dialogue with the service. The layoffs affect both production and administrative areas.
AHT supplies its goods to supermarkets, discounters, ice cream, and beverage manufacturers worldwide. The company claims that both the price increases of the last few years and political uncertainties make the job cuts necessary. Fewer investments by important customers are counteracting full capacity utilization in the company, which is why they have started internal restructuring.
The layoffs intend to maintain the financial stability and competitiveness of the local company, after all attempts to retain employees failed.
