Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Bulgarian subsidiary of the Swedish company SHL Healthcare will open 150 new jobs in its new facility for the production of medical products. The company specialises in the production of slings for patients, mattresses to prevent pressure ulcers, pumps and medical products for the treatment of patients in hospitals, nursing homes and for home use.
The factory in Sofia is located on an area of 5000 sq. m. It was fully acquired by the manufacturer in 2022 and will be managed by its local subsidiary SNL Healthcare Bulgaria. It plans to increase the production of medical slings, and choppers with a mechanism for the treatment of lymphedema and measuring systems for hospital beds.
Currently, the company has more than 5300 employees in Switzerland, Taiwan, Sweden, USA, as well as a production base in China.
