Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Carthago, a German-owned caravan manufacturer, has opened a new production unit for assembling Malibu Van campers in Ormož, where 80 new jobs will be created. The company expects to generate 120 more jobs by 2024, totalling 200 jobs in total.
Production site in Ormož is Carthago’s second Slovenian location after Odranci. Initially, 180 workers will work in Ormož: 100 will be relocated from Odranci, and 80 will be new hires. According to the managing director, the number of staff will increase to 300 by 2024 (by generating 120 new jobs in 2024) as the company plans to make at least 3,000 vehicles annually.
