Description
The Swedish Public Employment Service announced that approximately 320 decision officers will be laid off by the 1st of January 2024. The role that was established during the pandemic to support the agency with additional staff to handle the high workload stemming from the initial wave of unemployment. The role is now seen as no longer necessary for the functioning of the agency.
A press officer for the agency states to Svenska Dagbladet that as many decision officers will be rehired internally, subject to their competencies.
