Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Guyanese security and safety company, Rangers Securité, was placed in judicial liquidation on 7 February by the Paris Commercial Court. The company closed its doors in the first week of May and its 417 employees lost their jobs. The Social Security Fund of French Guyana was suing the company for non-payment of social security contributions. The manager explained that he had not been able to pay the social security contributions during the health crisis and was then unable to respect the schedule agreed with the social security fund to repay his debts. The surveillance contract at Cayenne airport has been awarded to another company that will take over 81 employees of Rangers Securité.
