Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
British/Indian automotive company Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) plant in Nitra in Slovakia plans to create 300 new jobs in May 2023. The creation of new jobs is related to the introduction of new weekend shifts at the body works and painting departments. The aim of the measure is to ensure the stability of production in the face of ever-increasing customer interest in vehicles manufactured at the plant, so that the balance between the work and family life of their employees is also maintained.
The company expands due to increased demand on car make of Land Rover Defender.
These new positions will be for10-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday. The employer pledged to provide bus transport as is usual during weekdays.
Currently, 4500 workers are employed in the plant and about one third of them are women.
