Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Poznan-based software development and IT consultancy company NetGuru dismissed 150 employees and co-workers with immediate effect. The redundancies covered almost all departments of the company, including top management. The company management stated that the changes were necessary to adapt to the changing business environment.
The company said that as part of the support package for those made redundant, a cash allowance was offered depending on the type of contract and seniority in the company, extended medical insurance, access to mental health support options and extended access to company equipment.
Netguru has been operating in the Poznan market since 2008. Among other things, it develops software and provides consultancy services for creating and developing digital products. At the end of 2022, the company's team, including those working on B2B contracts, comprised 900 people.
