Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Prysmian S.p.A., an Italian company specialized in the production of electrical cable for use in the energy and telecom sectors and for optical fibres, has announced the creation of 120 new jobs by the end of March 2023.
The company has received €7.5 million through state aid scheme, which will finance a €12.5 million project. The state aid is for developing an IT centre of excellence in Slatina (Olt County). The plan is to hire 120 people, including 50 recent graduates from technical and economics faculties who will enter a three-month full-time paid academy dedicated to SAP, IT infrastructure as well as the company's other business applications.
In recent years, the company has invested over €60 million in Romania, supporting the local community of Slatina with more than 1,000 jobs in its four plants and its local headquarters.
