Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The management of the Clinavenir group has announced the closure of the Clinique de Gascogne, located in Auch (Gers) and the dismissal of the 100 employees of the site. Placed in receivership since July 2022, the clinic has not found a solution to maintain its healthcare services, despite discussions with the public hospital in Auch and the Regional Health Agency (ARS), which is in charge of managing the public hospital and healthcare servises at regional level.
The clinic, which employs around one hundred people: nurses, care assistants, medical secretaries, doctors and surgeons, will close on 16 March. With this closure, a large part of the surgery would no longer be performed in this department, forcing patients to go to the health centres of Toulouse, Albi or Agen for urology, stomatology or vascular surgery.
