Description
The railway construction company Infranord has announced a plan to lay off more than 100 employees. The layoffs concern supervisors, shunting engineers and administrative staff.
The redundancies are due to the company losing contracts for railway maintenance in central and northern Sweden.
Infranord states that they have been working on redeployments within the company. In order to prevent the laid-off employees from becoming unemployed, the company has been in dialogue with the companies that won the contracts for central and northern Sweden and may need more staff.
Infranord is a Swedish state-owned railway company employing a total of 1.700 persons.
