European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Longchamp leather goods brand is planning to recruit 200 employees in its five French workshops, located in the Pays de la Loire region (Segré, Château-Gontier, Ernée, Pouzauges) and in Rémalard, in the Orne region (Normandy). The company wants to support its growth and replace departures.
The recruitment should allow for 130 net new positions within Longchamp's current workforce of 700 employees in these five units, taking into account natural departures, particularly retirements. In 2022, the company recruited 100 people for a net increase in the workforce of 35 people (FR-Longchamp-2022). The objective for the restructuring is to achieve maximum production capacity and to give the French sites a greater importance for the company's global production. Longchamp also has manufacturing sites in Tunisia and Mauritius as well as subcontractors in Morocco, Romania and China, and is currently developing a strategy of regionalising production to reduce delays and transport.
