Description
The rectorate of the Besançon academy has announced 52 job cuts in the academy's schools and 69 in the general secondary schools for the start of the school year in September 2023. These reductions in posts are explained by the number of pupils, which has been falling for several years now in the departments of Franche-Comté: 2,695 fewer pupils for the start of the 2023 school year. In secondary schools, the Doubs will lose 22 posts, the Haute-Saône 15, the Territoire de Belfort 9 and the Jura 6 posts. In addition to the job cuts, the education authority warns that it will also have to close classes in schools at the beginning of the school year.
