Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
FM Mattsson, a Swedish manufacturer of equipment and accessories for plumbing, taps and fittings, initiates cooperation negotiations on the redundancy of 35 out of 335 employees at its site in Mora, Sweden. Negotiations have been started with the parties concerned.
The redundancies are set out as a measure to cut costs. The company has experienced a decline in sales and profitability in the Nordic market. In addition, a weaker construction market is reducing demand for the company's goods. Lower sales are most evident in the production in Mora, which is why the dismissals will take place there.
FM Mattsson is Swedish-based with a total of 532 employees. The company sells its products to the rest of the Nordic region and large parts of Europe.
