Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Danish-capital fish-processing company Espersen Lietuva is to dismiss 70 employees in Klaipeda in 2023. The company has already informed the Public Employment Service about the dismissals. The main reason for the layoffs is a reduction in the company’s production volume. The company is giving up two out of four shifts. Production workers account for the largest number of all laid-off workers – 67 in total.
Espersen is a provider of frozen fish blocks, frozen fillets, specials cuts and other fish products. The company is based in Lithuania, with its head office in Klaipeda. Currently, the company employs 416 employees in Klaipeda.
