Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
GlobalLogic, a multinational software development and design company, has announced it plans to create 1000 jobs in the digital engineering centre opening in Valencia, Spain. The company will mainly be looking to recruit software architects and engineers, designers and data scientists.
GlobalLogic states it will open several digital engineering centres over the next three years. Specifically, the company plans to set up initially in Valencia and Malaga in 2023, giving rise to the first company operational centres in southern Europe. Employment figures for Malaga have not been confirmed. Subsequently, the company plans to expand its presence in Spain, specifically to Madrid and Tarragona, anticipating an expansion between 2500 and 3000 employees over the next three years at the four planned engineering centres.
Previous business expansions have been recorded in the ERM Events database for GlobalLogic. During 2022, the two business expansions occurred in Poland, announcing the planned hiring of 500 employees in January (GlobalLogic-2022-PL) and a further 120 employees in June (GlobalLogic-2022-PL).
