Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
5 to go, a Romanian company which offers coffee products at the ‘fair price’ of 5 RON (approx. €1) is to hire 450 new workers by the end of 2023. In 2022, the company opened 150 new cafes, reaching a market share of 55%. In addition, by the end of 2022, the company had a workforce of 1,050 employees.
For 2023, the company targets 30 new cities, seeking to strenghten its presence in its market segment. It also plans to list new products, developing the range of organic and vegan products as well as environmentally friendly variants. In addition, the company will focus on product innovation and on concepts and campaigns aimed at boosting its revenue.
The company representatives announced that the new directions are expected to have a positive impact on turnover, with an estimated €40 million at group level in 2023.
The company was established in 2015 by two Romanian entrepreneurs.
