Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Lithuanian-capital company Axioma Metering, engaged in manufacturing of smart metering devices, is to create around 150 new jobs in Kaunas Free Economic Zone in 2023. The company has started building a new factory which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024. The company has announced that it will invest more than €15 million in the construction of the new factory and hire around 150 new employees in 2023. In 2024, Axioma Metering plans to add about 180 more professionals to their team. The company expects that the total production capacity will triple to more than 6 million meters when the investment is fully completed.
Axioma Metering belongs to the ICOR group of companies. The company is manufacturing smart meters that are designed for monitoring industrial, commercial, and residential buildings. Currently, the company employs 338 employees in Lithuania.
