Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Irish-owned energy company, Hanley Energy, is to create 225 new jobs in the northeast of the country. The positions are part of an expansion to include a new manufacturing facility in county Monaghan and the development of an existing facility in county Louth. Recruitment for the new roles will begin in the first quarter of 2023. The new roles will include electrical and mechanical engineers, apprenticeships, general operatives and production staff.
The company, which has its European headquarters in county Meath, employs 650 people worldwide, including in Germany, Sweden, Australia, South Africa and the United States.
