Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As announced on 21 December 2022, the French provider of logistics services Geodis has opened a multi-user logistics facility in Aurach which has created 100 new jobs. The new logistics centre optimizes the company’s market access and supports its Europe-wide expansion as a global transport and logistics provider. 75 of the new employees will work directly at the warehouse while the remaining 25 employees will work in administration and management surrounding the warehouse’s activities.
Geodis has 46,000 employees worldwide. A previous restructuring event has been recorded for Geodis, with a business expansion of 1000 employees in France, in 2011 (Geodis-2011-FR).
