Description
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, a Dutch company located in Amsterdam, announced that around 800 additional security guards will be hired by April 2023. Hiring hundreds of extra security guards should solve the ongoing problems with the checking of travelers and their hand luggage. The additional security guards would allow the airport to receive more passengers during the holidays compared to 2022.
The Federation od Dutch Trade Unions (FNV) is skeptical, pointing to the great outflow of security personnel and the state of the labor market. Additionally, FNV stated that at least 1000 security guards should be recruited considering that many security guards employed by Schiphol are leaving their position. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is considered as the main international airport of the Netherlands.
