Huntsman, an American multinational chemical manufacturer has announced it will be closing its European headquarters in Everberg and 400 employees are at risk of losing their job. According to the company management, the main reasoning behind the restructuring measure are the increasing wage costs and energy prices.
The company intends to move the European headquarters to Frankfurt, Germany, and transfer some of the jobs to other sites in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and Krakow (Poland). Only the research and development department will be moved within Belgium.
