Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Finnish concrete manufacturing company Lujabetoni recruits up to 100 new employees for its factory in Kärsämäki. The company has signed a contract with the German wind energy company Nordex to build a wind farm for which Lujabetoni will supply concrete towers. Production of the concrete towers will commence in the summer of 2023, which is when more workers will be required. The company also plans to expand its plant to enable the production of concrete towers.
In line with the company's sustainable development policy, the aim is to increase the amount of renewable energy in Finland. The current changing global situation and energy shortage also motivate the company to invest in renewable energy sources.
Lujabetoni is Finland's leading concrete company, employing more than 880 people in the country. The company supplies diverse concrete products from a total of 27 factories.
