Description

Electrolux, a Swedish multinational home appliance manufacturer, has announced a reorganisation of its production facilities, which is expected to result in 4000 redundancies in total, 300 of them at the Solaro (MI) site in Lombardy. Half of the redundancy will be blue-collar staff and the other half of white-collar staff and managers.

The decision was made because the company decided to produce a new product in the Italian factory which will require a very important investment. The site in fact needs an intense reorganization in the packaging plant, in the assembly lines and in the technology department.

The company is therefore in dialogue with the trade unions to reach an agreement on redundancies.

Update 11/01/2023:

The Electrolux group has reached an agreement with the unions on the exits, with the decision on 222 exits. The redundancies are divided into 121 blue-collar workers and 101 white-collar workers. Redundancies are divided based on qualifications and plant: 36 blue-collar workers and 40 white-collar workers in Porcia and Pordenone plant, 77 blue-collar workers and 19 white-collar workers in Forlì plant, 10 white-collar workers in Solaro plant, 25 white-collar workers in Susegana plant, 8 blue-collar workers and 5 white-collar workers in Cerreto d'Esi plant and finally 2 white-collar workers in the Assago plant.

To facilitate exits, there are incentives of up to 72 thousand euros for those who do not meet the pension requirements. The incentives will be divided as follows: 3 thousand euros for those who meet the pension requirements, 12 thousand euros for those who meet the pension requirements within one year, and 25 thousand euros within two years. Finally, 72 thousand euros are provided for those who do not meet the pension requirements in two years.
