Description

On 23 October 2022,  RP online reported that the German multinational DIY market store chain Obi decided to cut 150 jobs. Jobs will be cut in its administration and logistics departments in Germany. Approximately 150 employees were presented with offers for leaving the company voluntarily. On request, a spokesperson of the company told the newspaper that OBI wants to restructure its business. A new business strategy had been developed: whilst the chain would put more empahsis on technology, other business areas were downsized. According to OBI, some 3.000 employees worked at its headquarters in Wermelskirchen and at its other logistic centres in Germany.
