Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Melco Cyprus, owner of Cyprus Casinos and one of the largest employers in the country, has announced a development project for the first multi-theme resort in Europe, City of Dreams Mediterranean: the company is going to recruit over 1,000 employees. Applications are open and interested candidates can attend an Open Career Day on Tuesday, 18 October 2022, at the Melco Cyprus Career Centre. New jobs will be for apprentice croupiers, bartenders, waiters, cooks, receptionists, entertainment operators and restaurant managers.
The general manager of City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos- Grant Johnson- has underlined the importance of the investment in human capital, and that Melco Group will offer its employees the opportunity to develop their careers of by enhancing their skills and investing in their abilities. The company will provide a competitive remuneration and benefits packages. As of 14 October 2022, there is no foreseen date of when these positions will be filled.
Around 700 people, mostly Cypriot citizens, are currently employed by Melco Cyprus.
