The commercial chamber of the Strasbourg judicial court has recently pronounced the judicial liquidation of the manufacturer of removable partitions for offices and clean rooms Clestra Hauserman, based in Illkirch-Graffenstaden (Bas-Rhin). It has been announced that 86 out of the company’s 369 employees (over 20%) will be dismissed. The Jestia family group has taken over the remaining employees, thus allowing 283 jobs out of 369 to be maintained in France, however, 9 positions will undergo reclassification. The Clestra unions are currently trying to negotiate redeployment solutions and voluntary departures with accompanying measures for certain employees who are close to retirement.
It should be noted that the Clestra group, which had a €145 million turnover in 2021, has been placed in receivership, partly as a result of a cyber-attack, which has greatly slowed down the company's production since this spring. The manager points out that during the May-August period, the company only managed to produce the equivalent of a normal month’s output.
Jestia has a turnover of €83 million in 2021 and employs 810 full-time equivalents. Through its company Mobideco, located in Bonson (Loire), the group specializes in furniture for communities, schools and libraries, as well as customised fittings. By taking over Clestra Hauserman, it intends to create a third branch dedicated to office fitting. Towards this acquisition, Jestia is investing €5 million. In addition, the Grand Est Region (€920,000) and the State will be providing €5 million in loans.
