Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Hungarian subsidiary of German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies finished the expansion at its Cegléd production unit. As a result of the investment, 275 new jobs will be created. The new plant unit will produce high-powered semiconductor modules that will be built into electric and hybrid vehicles. The investment cost was €100 million, of which the government provided €20 million as a non-refundable subsidy. The investment is a response to the growing demand posed by the expansion of electromobility. Close to 100% of products produced at this plant will be exported.
Infineon Technologies Cegléd has been operating in Hungary for 28 years and is a market leader in the development and production of semiconductors for industrial use. It employs 40,000 people worldwide.
in 2018, the company recruited 533 people in the same location (Infineon Technologies Cegléd-2018-HU).
