Blue solutions has announced the recruitment in France of 70 engineers, including electro-chemists, to strengthen its research and development teams. This subsidiary of the Bolloré group, former operator of the first electric car-sharing system in the Paris region (Autolib) aims to become the 'world leader in solid batteries' for electric vehicles.
Blue Solutions manufactures solid Lithium Metal Polymer (LMP) batteries, which compete with the lithium-ion batteries most commonly used in electric vehicles.
The group has announced an investment of €145 million over the next three years, dedicated to R&D in batteries. Mass production is expected to start in 2026, moving to large volumes by 2028.
The company currently employs 400 people in France.
