Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The German group Hager, which is specialised in the manufacture of equipment for electrical installations, has announced the recruitment of 150 employees for its factory in Obernai (Bas-Rhin). Hager has invested more than €54 million in this factory in recent years. To recruit, it organised a job dating event on 23 and 24 September. The long-term objective is to increase production capacity of the site by 50%. The company will provide training to the new employees. It also stresses the difficulty of recruiting in an area with a low unemployment rate (3.5%).
Hager currently employs 2,100 people at Obernai. Early this year Hager announced to recruit 50 people in Bischwiller (Hager-2022-FR).
