Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IT and information services company Microsoft España has announced plans to hire 100 people in Spain this year, who will join its current workforce to reinforce and expand the business activities. The company has a total workforce of 1,100 people located in several plants in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.
In this regard, the company plans to set up additional data centres in the municipalities of Algete, Meco and San Sebastián de los Reyes, located in the region of Madrid, to fullfill the increasing demand for cloud services and solutions from Spanish companies and public entities. It is expected that the new jobs will focus on three specific areas: technical services, customer service and Research and Development activities. The hiring process has started on 1 July 2022 and it is expected to last until 30 June 2023. So far, around 35% of the new positions have been already filled up.
