Description

COOP Jednota Slovensko is the oldest and the largest company in Slovakia offering retail sale of food, beverages, drugs and pharmacy goods. The announced job creation is related to the opening of several new stores across Slovakia, mostly in regional towns and villages. This will create 150 new jobs in 2022 and will be financed through an investment of € 30 million. In total, the company will open 11 new stores and renovate 137, with the largest one being an ultra-modern store in Sala with cutting edge technology in freezing, heating, LED lightning, etc..

COOP Jednota currently owns more than 2000 stores in 1500 Slovak towns and villages and according to its annual report, employs over 14000 employees. Through the expansion the company aims to increase its customer base by targeting remote areas in the country. The expansion also aims to invest in new technologies which will reduce the envrionmental footprint of the company.
