US-headquartered medical medtech company Medtronic is to hire 200 new research and development professioanals at its plant in Galway. The company currently employs 4,000 people across five sites in Ireland. The new jobs will be in new product development and global laboratory services. There will also be jobs available in the areas of chemical analysis and biocompatibility to support the global laboratory services team. There will be roles across all levels, from graduate-level to senior. Just over half of the R&D roles have been filled to date.
Newly recruited employees will be provided with flexible working arrangements, however they will be expected to be available to come onsite in Galway when necessary.
